Catalina is an island with white sandy beaches, near the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, it is a protected Natural Park, where there are no buildings of any kind. This island is a real Caribbean paradise, it has one of the best dive spots in the Dominican Republic, from the beach, a soft slope leads to an impressive wall that drops to more than 100 meters, the whole slope from the beach to the wall is and authentic garden of corals and fauna, a platform of thousands of square metres at less than an average depth of 3 meters, ideal for snorkelling. Catalina has exceptionally beautiful beaches and unlimited views into the blue horizon. Catalina Island consists of three overlapping plateaus, its highest elevation being only 20 metres above sea level; it has a very little vegetation and is entirely "built" out of coral stone. A massive line of sand dunes and mangrove swamps serve as a natural protection line to ‘intruders’.
